Live Resin vs Rosin: Everything You Need to Know

Live Resin vs Rosin: Everything You Need to Know

There are a whole bunch of different ways to get baked these days. In my day, we walked uphill both ways in the snow to buy a bag of swag, and we were happy to have it! Now you have “Delta this” and “live resin that”. Needless to say, it can be difficult to keep up with.

These days, many popular types of ganja products are made with either live resin or live rosin. Both of these are important terms for the modern space cadet to understand, yet many have no idea what they mean. No worries, we have you covered like a warm blanket of knowledge. In this article, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about live resin and live rosin. We’ll talk about what they are, how they differ, and which one might be best for you.

Sit tight, grab some Ganj, and let’s turn you into a learned scholar!

What is Live Resin

Unlike most other types of cannabis concentrates, live resin is made from freshly harvested cannabis that has not undergone any sort of curing process. The fully mature plant is pulled from the ground, flash-frozen, and kept frozen throughout the entirety of the extraction process. By freezing the plant, instead of drying and curing, we avoid degrading the plant’s terpenes.

Terpenes are the compounds that are responsible for the flavor and aromatic properties of a plant, so live resin products typically are much more flavorful and accurate to the plant’s natural taste. If you really want to taste the natural flavor of the plant, live resin is the best option out there.

Once the crop has been gathered, this is the procedure for creating live resin:

  • Freeze some premium Hemp
  • Draw out the oil
  • Transform into live resin

Pretty simple, right?

Upon completion of the extraction process, live resin is regularly heated in a vacuum oven. It can be kept in its current form, or combined with live resin carts, live resin vape pens, or any number of other products.

Benefits of Live Resin:

  • Super Potent
  • Wildly flavorful
  • Full terpene profile

What is Live Rosin

Live Rosin is in a league of its own. It tastes amazing, gets you super baked, and doesn’t contain trace amounts of solvents, because it doesn’t require any solvents to make! Live rosin is made with a solvent-free extraction method that yields some seriously impressive results.

Instead of using chemicals like butane or CO2 to extract cannabinoids, live rosin is made by using an ice bath to extract cannabinoids. The plant is harvested, dried, and then dunked in a giant ice bath and agitated so the trichomes separate from the plant. The trichomes are then slowly collected through various seaves, frozen, and dehydrated. Because the trichomes, terpenes, and cannabinoids are extracted without any heat or chemicals, the degradation of compounds is minimal, and the live rosin is both more flavorful and potent than your average cannabis concentrate.

Benefits of Live Rosin:

  • Extremely potent
  • Impressively flavorful
  • No solvents used during extraction

Live Resin vs Live Rosin

Live resin and live rosin are both awesome types of extracts. They both allow you to taste the full, robust flavor of cannabinoids more than any other type of extract and they both get you so baked you’ll feel like you’re on a different planet. So, which one is right for you?

Well, live resin is flash-frozen and doesn’t cause any degradation of terpene quality. If you prioritize taste over all else, then live resin is probably for you. If you want to get blitzed out of your gourd, then live rosin is probably the best bet. You can think of live rosin as pure cannabis crystals, which it basically is. It’s made by submerging the plant in ice-cold water which helps the trichomes break off upon agitation. This allows for some seriously powerful products!

Again, you really can’t go wrong with either of these. Just make sure to consider your level of experience and personal ganja priorities. If you’re just getting started with THC vapes, live resin will allow you to taste the full range of flavors present in cannabis and might be the perfect introduction. If you’re a seasoned THC enthusiast with a high tolerance, then you should definitely try our live rosin pens. Ultimately, both of these are super flavorful, impressively potent, and are great options.
